ABOUT CAMiLLE
Camille has been making art her whole life. As a former florist, farmer, and landscape designer, she has had her hands in the dirt long enough to develop a genuine obsession with the way things grow, bloom, and disappear with the seasons. That obsession has a way of ending up on paper.
Influenced by the graphic clarity of screen printing and woodblock printing, she works across gouache, oil pastels, colored pencils, and her own screen print and risograph editions. The goal is always the same: to notice + celebrate what is beautiful and fleeting in the everyday world, and make something that helps you remember it long after the season has changed.
Her work has been featured in the New York Times Style and on the cover of Frankie Magazine.
MURALS
Camille Shu's mural work is rooted in a deep familiarity with plants, seasons, and ecology. As a former florist, flower farmer, and landscape designer with a lifelong fine art practice, Camille brings unique botanical knowledge to large-scale site-specific work. She curates palettes and compositions that feel specific to the space and the community it serves.
-
Design: Every mural starts with inspiration - usually a specific ecosystem or a botanical theme that feels right for the space. I'm happy to work from your direction, or if you'd rather hand me the wall and let me run with it, I love that too. I’ll iterate on plant combinations and color palette through a series of drafts with the client until the design is finalized.
Installation: I typically project the image onto the wall and trace it out before painting begins. I take on projects of any scale, from a small accent wall to a large-scale installation, completing the work myself or bringing in a crew when the project calls for it.

PRiNTS + ORiGiNALS
All of Camille’s print are reproductions of hand drawn/painted originals. She uses a range of printing methods (some outsourced some done herself) to capture the bright colors and subtle textures. Methods include Giclee, risograph, and screen prints. Originals are available occasionally online and in person at advertised galleries + venues.
-
Originals are available sporadically. The best was to stay updated on available works and upcoming shows is by subscribing to my newsletter.
-
I use Giclee printing when I want archival prints that capture lots of color and vibrancy. They are often printed to order and have the most options with sizing. These prints are the most expensive. I use a local Portland company Gango Editions.
I use risograph when I have more limited colors and want a cost effective yet beautiful analog effect. Risograph creates imperfections that I love. These are the lowest price point of my prints.
Screen prints are ordered in batches or editions, usually 50. These have a medium range price point.
